Rafael Marks
Since joining Penoyre & Prasad in 2004, Rafael has worked on a variety of education and development planning projects including Kings’ College in Dubai, a £39m competition-winning design for a 2000 place all through school to meet high environmental targets.
Rafael has developed his interest in education, housing and urbanism, working on a number of projects including the award winning Minster School in Nottinghamshire, and an innovative Zero Carbon school in North London. He is currently CDA for Hertfordshire’s BSF programme and a member of Southwark’s Design Review Panel.
Rafael trained at the University of Manchester, Oxford Brookes University and University College, London. He has extensive experience of architecture in the developing world having worked in Zanzibar, Kampala and Mozambique and is involved on a part time basis with Architecture Sans Frontieres. Rafael has been a design tutor at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and at the University of North London.

* The extension and refurbishment of St Marks Academy, Sutton, for DFES Academies Division, £6m; 2007-ongoing.
* A new primary school, nursery and youth centre in Crouch Hill, London for the London Borough of Islington - a £11.5m competition-winning new buildingfor the relocated Ashmount Primary School, incorporating community facilities and an exceptionally low carbon footprint; 2006-ongoing.
